PT Uniform — Full Head-to-Toe Shopping Checklist
Use this checklist to complete the authorized State Guard physical training uniform. Organization policy controls colors, logos, reflective items, seasonal layers, and footwear.

Male OCP / Army Combat Uniform (ACU) — Full Head-to-Toe Shopping Checklist
Use this as a head-to-toe OCP/ACU shopping and wear-preparation guide. It covers the standard uniform, headgear, insignia, underlayers, footwear, hot-weather and cold/wet-weather clothing, specialty garments, and role-specific wearable options. Your State Guard/Defense Force regulation, SOP, commander guidance, duty assignment, and current authorization always control.
Important: OCP is the camouflage pattern; ACU is the uniform. This collection is intentionally focused on uniforms, apparel, insignia, footwear, and wearable accessories. Hydration systems, IFAKs, tourniquets, medical pouches, and similar field equipment may be mission-required, but they are not uniform apparel and are not part of this apparel collection.
1. Core OCP / ACU Uniform — Head to Toe
Headgear
- ☐ OCP Patrol Cap — primary field headgear when prescribed.
- ☐ Patrol-Cap Rank / Device — exact organization-approved type, color, attachment method, and placement.
- ☐ Alternate Patrol Cap — only if your organization authorizes a different approved OCP patrol-cap model.
Upper Body & Identification
- ☐ Men’s OCP ACU Coat
- ☐ Tan 499 / Authorized Undershirt
- ☐ Surname Name Tape
- ☐ Organization / State Guard Tape
- ☐ Chest Rank Insignia — correct rank, color, size, and attachment method.
- ☐ State / Organization Shoulder Patch — correct shoulder and orientation.
- ☐ Full-Color State / Territorial Flag Patch — Reverse Orientation — hook-fastener / hook-and-loop backing with a yellow/gold border or outline; use the organization-prescribed size and placement.

Waist, Trousers & Footwear

2. Hot-Weather / Summer OCP Options
Use only the hot-weather configuration your organization authorizes.

3. Cold-Weather / Winter Layering — ECWCS & Wearables
Cold-weather items are layered according to conditions and your organization’s authorized uniform configuration.

4. Wet-Weather / Rain Options
- ☐ Waterproof / Breathable Uniform Parka or Shell
- ☐ Wet-Weather Trousers / Shell Trousers — only if authorized by your organization.
- ☐ Authorized Rain Headgear — use the patrol cap, boonie, hood, or other headgear exactly as local guidance directs.
- ☐ Waterproof Coyote Boots
- ☐ Moisture-Management Base Layer & Socks — select uniform-compatible layers appropriate to the temperature.
5. Mission / Specialty Uniform Apparel
These are wearable specialty garments, not universal daily-uniform components.
- ☐ FRACU OCP Flame-Resistant Coat — mission-specific wear.
- ☐ FRACU OCP Flame-Resistant Trousers — mission-specific wear.
- ☐ OCP Advanced Combat Shirt — when body armor/field mission guidance authorizes it.
- ☐ Alternate Combat Shirt — only if the exact garment and pattern are organization-approved.
- ☐ Safety / Composite-Toe Coyote Boots — for duties that require protective footwear and when compatible with uniform policy.
- ☐ Other Flame-Resistant, Aircrew, Technical, or Protective Wearable Garments — only when your duty position or mission requires them.
6. Medical / Healthcare Duty Apparel
Medical personnel may have additional wearable duty-clothing options. These are role- and organization-specific and should not be confused with medical equipment.

- ☐ Standard OCP ACU Coat & Trousers — for medical duty performed in the normal field/service uniform.

- ☐ Medical Identification / Duty Patches — only where organization guidance authorizes them.
Not part of this apparel collection: IFAKs, tourniquets, hydration carriers/bladders, medical pouches, and similar equipment. Those may still be mission-essential, but they belong in field/medical equipment collections rather than the uniform-apparel shopping list.
7. Final Wear & Appearance Verification
- ☐ Confirm your organization currently authorizes OCP/ACU for your duty status and assignment.
- ☐ Confirm coat and trousers are the correct pattern, shade, serviceability, and approved configuration.
- ☐ Confirm surname tape, organization tape, rank, shoulder patch, flag, badges, tabs, and attachment methods.
- ☐ Confirm the correct headgear for the event: patrol cap, authorized boonie, watch cap, or other specifically directed option.
- ☐ Confirm undershirt, belt, socks, boots, boot blousing, and laces meet current local guidance.
- ☐ Do not mix incompatible uniform configurations unless your organization specifically authorizes the combination.
- ☐ Weather layers should be clean, serviceable, correctly colored, and worn only under authorized conditions.
- ☐ Specialty, medical, hot-weather, FR, and combat-shirt options require the appropriate mission or organizational authorization.
- ☐ Replace damaged, faded, unserviceable, or improperly fitting components before wear.
